For those of you know the cookbook Fika, The Art of the Swedish Coffee Break, you are already familiar with Johanna Kindvall's classic recipes and artful illustrations. As a follow up to that cookbook, Johanna has just released Smörgåsbord, The Art of Swedish Breads and Savory Treats.
As wondrous luck would have it, the Swedish-born author will be doing a few events in the Bay Area in the near future, the first of which is at Kantine this Sunday March 10 between 3-5pm. (Yes, we're staying open late that day.) We've just received a large box of the glorious books, and we will be selling them at Sunday's event as well as at the front counter starting tomorrow (Thursday). The 150-page book costs $17.99.
Not only will the lovely Johanna be present at the event to sign books, shake hands and kiss babies, but our kitchen will also be whipping up some delectable bites of smörgåsbord for all to try.
